Mom would be proud…

This weekend was packed for me. I had a Bachlorette Party, a Shower, was helping out with some stuff for another Bachlorette Party in two weeks and had a good friend from college in town. Because of some of my other obligations I didn’t get to spend as much time with my friend Mall from College. I wish I would have been able to see her more than I did but she’ll be up again for the other Bachlorette Party and Shower in two weeks. I don’t think I sat down the whole weekend until Sunday even and I was out when I did.

Friday I got a text from one of the girls I had in Disciple Now letting me know that a couple of them were going to be in town for a soccer tournament. It was extremely cold and windy all weekend and Friday night was no exception. Mark was not to excited to go sit out in the weather and watch a soccer game but given the great husband he is we suffered through it with me. It was so good to see some of the girls and I think they were pretty surprised to see me and Mark at the game. I felt so sorry for them because the weather was not too easy on them. They had to play at 8:30 the next morning and then had to play at 1:00 in the sleet.

The other night after coming home from working out I got out in the yard and helped Mark with some stuff. We’ve tried to transplant some of the sod we’ve dug up in the back so that we don’t have to purchase much more, we also got quite a bit from our neighbor who dug some up due to putting in a couple trees. I say my mom would be proud because she never saw me out in the yard when I was at home. I think she would be surprised to see me out getting my hands dirty. It’s defiantly a little more motivating now that we have a house and knowing that unless we don’t put the work in ourselves our house is bound to look very bland. It also makes me feel bad to let Mark put in all the hard work himself.

I’ll leave you with a pretty fun photo of the D-Now girls…mind you this picture was taken Sunday morning at about 8:00 after loosing an hour of sleep that weekend.  I was blown away by their energy.

  1. I found your blog on google and read a few of your other posts. I just added you to my Google News Reader. Keep up the good work. Look forward to reading more from you in the future.

  2. I guess it took a man to motivate you in the yard. I suppose I did not have the influence, but I am glad to see you sharing your husband’s interest and realizing that curb appeal is important and shows that you care for your home. I am proud you are out there digging, bending, sweating and planting. To me that type of work is heaven on earth. Love – MOM
